Postal automation systems engineer: managed software and documentation of prototype Delivery Barcode Sorter (DBCS); lead OCR R&D project, analyzed USPS automation requirements, helped design postal automation systems, analyzed BCR technology, prototyped parallel processing system for postal applications, debugged optics & mechanical design of USPS facer canceller prototype. Postal automation test manager: managed USPS field tests, analyzed, verified, and negotiated (saving over $280 million in the cost model) DBCS and Wide Area Bar Code Reader test results. Proposal manager/ author: wrote and managed postal automation technical proposals to USPS. New business technologist: coordinated USPS NPF sorter presence, edited video scripts; tracked postal news for senior staff.

Designed and developed Fortran-77 software to read Doppler radar data from multiple weather radar systems in multiple formats, display and analyze data, and convert to common format for storage. Developed tools to analyze patterns observed on weather radar scans to distinguish between weather and bird / insect targets. Managed MicroVAX system for the laboratory. Presented results to scientific and technical colleagues.

Improved system and conducted auditory pharmacology tests to determine the effects of candidate drugs on the responses of auditory nerve fibers in animals for treatment of tinnitus. Invented and deployed microcomputer based single cell data capture, display, & recording system. Invented and deployed high speed low cost microcomputer upgrade for scintillation counter plotter.
